Ingredients For Making Protein Bagels
- 250 g self raising wheat flour
- 250 ml Greek yogurt
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. onion powder
- 2 eggs, one to be mixed with the dough and one for the egg wash
- 2 tsp. sesame seeds
- 1/4 tsp. salt
How To Make Protein Bagels
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Take a baking tray and line it with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, add the self raising wheat flour, garlic powder, onion powder, one egg, Greek yoghurt and salt, mix together to form a thick dough.
- Knead the dough for 2 to 3 minutes or until smooth. Divide the dough into 4 pieces, cover with a kitchen towel and cover for 20 minutes.
- Roll each piece into a rope and connect the ends to form a bagel shape. Put into the baking tray and brush with the beaten egg to give them a shiny finish, sprinkle with the sesame seeds.
- Put into the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until they are golden brown.
- Cool them on a wire rack before serving them with a protein topping of your choice like cream cheese, smoked salmon, eggs, bacon or any other protein.
