Ingredients For Making Huli Huli Chicken
- 10 chicken thighs
- 2 tbsp. cooking oil
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- 2 cm ginger crushed
- 1 tbsp. sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp. chili flakes
- 200 ml soy sauce
- 200 ml pineapple juice
- 150 ml ketchup
- 1 tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 tbsp. apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp. honey
- 1 tbsp. sliced green onions
How To Prepare Huli Huli Chicken
- In a mixing bowl, add the brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, ketchup, honey, chili flakes, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, pineapple juice and soy sauce, whisk together until well combined.
- Deep the chicken thighs into the marinade and apply all over the chicken, then cover the mixing bowl and marinate in the fridge for 3 hours or overnight for more enhanced flavors.
- Switch on the grill to medium heat, brush some cooking oil then place the chicken thighs on the grill, cook for 6 minutes each side, basting with the juices occasionally.
- Grill the chicken until it is cooked through and no more juices are dripping from the chicken. At the same time, grill the pineapple pieces on both sides, and put then aside.
- Garnish the chicken with green onions and serve with grilled pineapple pieces. You can serve with a side dish of basmati rice and a salad of your choice.
