Asparagus, is a vegetable that has its shoots harvested for produce. It has a savory and earthy taste similar to broccoli. Asparagus is most certainly one of the most common foods that start with A. It can be cooked in so many ways such as air frying , steaming ang roasting and can be served with any other dish of your choice.

2.Arugula

Arugula which is most commonly used in salad dishes is also called rucoli, or rugula is a green leafy vegetable that has a peppery taste. Arugula has many amazing benefits to the body such as lowering blood pressure.

Arugula can be eaten uncooked or cooked — it’s a nice addition to stir-fries and can be wilted into a pan sauce. Sautéing is one ways to cook arugula just like any other leafy vegetable like Spinach or add it to baked, or roasted dishes

Artichokes which is also referred to as globe artichoke is an immature flower bud of a thistle. Artichoke has a slightly nutty flavor with a slight bitterness. Artichokes are healthy vegetables that deliver nutrients like fiber, vitamin K and magnesium, and antioxidants like cynarin and silymarin. Canned, jarred or frozen artichoke hearts make it easy for us to enjoy them year-round.

4.Ackee

Ackee is a West African fruit that is used as a vegetable but can be a not so safe food to consume. Ackee is the national fruit of Jamaica. This tropical fruit is eaten when fully ripe and is used in an assortment of jams, drinks, and candies.

5.Adzuki beans

Adzuki beans is also one of the many foods that start with A and they are small mug red beans grown in the Himalayas and East Asia. This beans are usually red but can also be white, grey or black in color. Adzuki beans are cooked just like any other beans, soak them in water overnights and boil them until soft and tender.

Apricot most famously known for making apricot jellies, jams and chutneys is a stone fruit of the apricot tree. Apricots are slightly sweet and tart and firm in texture and can be interchanged with peaches.  Apricot is a dry fruit and it is recommend to eat a maximum of 4 apricots in a day. Many people ask whether or not you are supposed to eat the skin of an apricot and the answer is that Apricot skin is edible, but peeling and discarding it is preferable if you’re making a smooth puree, apricot jam.
