What is Chocolate Twist?
Chocolate Twist which is also known as chocolate torsades is when puff pastry is filled with chocolate or chocolate chips and baked until golden brown.
Chocolate twists are mostly served during breakfast or brunch with a cup of hot cocoa tea.
Where do I get the puff pastry from?
You can always use ready to go puff pastry that is pre- rolled because making homemade puff pastry is no joke and can get quite stressful.
Ingredients
The ingredients you will need for this recipe include:
- Pre rolled Puff Pastry
- Chocolate spread of choice
- Chocolate Chips
- Egg
What you will need
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°C
- Spread out your pastry and coat the chocolate spread evenly over the puff pastry, add the chocolate chips on top and then fold it into half.
- Cut the pastry into strips using a knife or pizza cutter. The thickness depends on your liking but make sure that they are not too thick.
- Cut the said strips into smaller strips and braid them against each other to form a twist. Make sure to pinch the opposite ends to prevent it form unravelling.
- Place the twisted stirps in a baking tray lined with parchment and greased.
- Crack an egg into a bowl and brush it over the chocolate twist.
- Bake for 10-15 minutes, until golden.
How To Serve
This chocolate twists are best enjoyed with a cup of hot cocoa tea.
You can also add sausage or beacon.
How To Store
This recipe s are best enjoyed when served freshly baked. However, you can save them for later by placing them in an airtight container in a cool and dry place for about a day or two.
