Peri Peri Seasoning

Peri peri seasoning consists of a variety of spices that creates a delicious spice mix. The peri peri seasoning consists of;

  • 1 tablespoon Paprika
  • 1/2 tablespoon Dried Oregano
  • 1/2 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Ground Coriander
  • 1 tablespoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Dried Parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Smoked Paprika

Add all the ingredients in a clean spice jar container and shake the jar well to incorporate the ingredients together.

Store in a cool dry place.

If you do not have all this ingredients, you can always buy peri peri seasoning from the store.

What potatoes should I use?

The best kind of potato to use when making peri peri french fries is any kind of potato that is high in starch like;

  • Yukon Gold potatoes
  • Russet Potatoes

Do I use frozen fries or homemade fires?

If you are on a time crunch, frozen fries will work just fine but I prefer homemade fries over frozen ones.

This is however just a personal preference and whether or not the fries are homemade or frozen does not make much of a difference.

Thin fries or thick fries?

Medium sized fries is what I would recommend but this is also just personal choice.

Thicker fries will take a bit longer to cook while thin fries will cook faster so be keen on not over cooking your fries depending on the size you choose to go for.

How to store

Peri peri fries are best enjoyed when hot.
