Oat crepes is another variation to the traditional crepes. Instead of using regular all purpose flour, oat crepes call for oat flour which is much more healthy than regular flour.

Oat crepes are most especially great when taken for breakfast or as a dessert.

They are incredibly delicious and easy to make.

Ingredients needed for this recipe

  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 cup of oat flour
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 tbsp melted unsalted butter
  • pinch of salt

What is oat flour

Oat flour is a healthy and nutritious whole grain flour made from oats.

Can I use rice flour?

Yes.

What can I substitute the eggs with?

There are many egg substitutes you can use such as nut butter and plain yogurt.

Add your own twist

You can personalize this oat crepe recipe in whatever way you please.

Some few examples include

  • Add sliced fruit
  • Sprinkle powdered sugar on top

WHAT TO DO WITH THE LEFTOVERS

Oat crepes are best when served fresh and warm. However, I would suggest storing the crepes in an airtight container in the fridge for only one day.

But remember that they are better enjoyed when fresh so you can alternatively store the batter in the fridge the night before.

How to make oat crepes

  • Take a large mixing bowl and mix in all the dry ingredients together.
  • Add in the wet ingredients. and Whisk together until batter is runny and not too thick.
  • Place a non stick pan over medium heat and pour in about 1/4 cup of batter into the pan. Tilt and rotate your pan until you form a thin crepe. Let it cook for about 2 minutes and then flip and let the other side cook for another 1 minute or so.
  • Serve the oat crepes with your favourite toppings and enjoy while warm.
