Hummus is a dish that originates from the Middle East made from tahini, chickpea, garlic, salt and lemon.
Of course with time, it has has many variations with added ingredients. Hummus is quite popularly used as a spread alongside other dishes.
Ingredients to make this truffle hummus
Here are all the ingredients you need to make this simple and delicious truffle hummus recipe:
- Truffle oil –You can’t have truffle hummus without the truffle oil!
- Chickpeas
- Tahini
- Garlic
- Lemon juice
- Aquafaba
- Salt

How to make
- In a boiling pot, add the chickpeas and water to cover the chickpeas completely and bring this to a boil.
- Boil until the skin on the chickpea starts falling off and is soft.
- Drain the chickpea through a strainer and run cold water over them for 1 minute.
- Add garlic, the chickpeas, truffle oil, lemon juice, aquafaba, salt and tahini into a food processor and blend until smooth.
- Serve the hummus on a plate with topping of your choice.
Tricks and tips for the best truffle hummus
- Add baking soda to the chickpea while boiling. This is going to make the chickpea soften a lot quicker and make them easier to digest.
