Chicken Nuggets are bite-sized pieces of chicken that are prepared by adding bread and spices and then deep-fried, baked or even air fried until they are golden and crispy. They are a very popular fast food in the Western countries.

Ingredients For Making Chicken Nuggets

  • 3 medium size boneless chicken thighs
  • 3 slices of bread
  • 2 tsp. Smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. Ginger paste
  • 2 tsp. Garlic paste
  • 1/2 cup plain yoghurt
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp. white pepper powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp. milk
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 liters cooking oil

How To Prepare Chicken Nuggets

  1. Cut the chicken breasts into cubes, mix the yoghurt with 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon paprika and garlic powder, add the chicken pieces, cover and marinate in the the fridge for one hour or even overnight.
  2. Cut the edges of the bread slices and then cut the bread into cubes.
  3. Remove the chicken from the marinade and shake off the excess marinade. Put the bread cube, corn starch, flour, ginger paste, garlic paste, soy sauce, salt, white pepper in a blender and blend to form into a firm paste.
  4. Put the chicken mixture onto a clean flat surface, apply some oil and shape into a flat square shape, like that of rolled dough.
  5. Cut into equal cubes, put the bread crumbs in a bowl, beat the egg into a small bowl, add the milk and beat together, until well mixed. Deep the chicken cubes into the egg mixture then coat with the bread crumbs.
  6. Arrange the chicken cubes into a bowl, without stacking together but each piece on its own space. When first layer is full, put a parchment paper to separate and continue arranging all the chicken cubes.
  7. Freeze them for about one hour to make them firm. Put a sauce pan on medium heat, add the cooking oil and let it heat up until a wooden skewer inserted into the oil bubbles up.
  8. Deep fry the chicken cubes without overcrowding the pan, fry them into golden colour, turn to the other side and fry them again to golden colour. At this point they should be crispy on the outside, tender and juicy
  9. Remove them from heat and put on a plate lined with paper towel to drain the excess oil. Serve them while still hot with a dip of ketchup, honey or ranch sauce.
