Ingredients Needed To Make Frisee Salad Recipe

1 small head lettuce head

1 small cos lettuce heart

For The Dressing

50 g walnut pieces broken into small pieces

3 tbsp. olive oil

1 tsp. clear honey

1 tbsp. white wine vinegar

1 tsp. Dijon mustard

1/4 tsp. black pepper powder

How To Prepare Frisee Salad Recipe

  1. Separate the Frisee lettuce and cos lettuce leaves and the wash them thoroughly, separate the leaves and tear them into bite size pieces.
  2. To make the dressing, put the walnuts in a frying pan, add 1 tablespoon of the oil and cook over medium heat for about 2 to 3 minutes or until lightly toasted.
  3. Remove from the heat and drizzle over the honey and stir. The heat from the pan will caramelize the mixture slightly.
  4. Add the remaining oil, stir, then leave to cool for 15 minutes so that the walnuts can flavour the oil.
  5. Put the vinegar and mustard in a small bowl, season with the pepper and beat together. Stir this into the cooled walnuts and oil.
  6. Put the lettuce leaves in a bowl and spoon over the walnut dressing, gently toss together to combine well and serve in a platter.
