Tips For Achieving Best Meatloaf With Mushroom Gravy
- Do not over mix the meat as this activates the proteins in the meat too much making them bind tightly, making the loaf rubbery and sausage-like and hard, instead of the desirable tender meatloaf.
- Always rest the meatloaf to ensure that the meatloaf is juicy at the center, spread evenly throughout the loaf.
- Ensure the mushrooms are well sautéed.
- Avoid slicing the meatloaf too early as the juices will spill out.
- The onions should be finely chopped to avoid the mixture crumbling.
- Always taste the gravy before serving to adjust the seasoning to your liking.
