Mushroom Burgers are very tasty delicacy trendy in restaurants as a gourmet vegetarian option. Mushrooms are very nutritious containing very crucial minerals for the body.
Mushrooms contain a lot of water, therefore it is necessary to dry them well while cooking them in order to get the best out of them. In this special recipe, i am adding some ground beef so that i can get more nutrients and an all rounded meal. You can skip the meat if you want a vegetarian version.

Ingredients For Making Mushroom Burgers
- 1 1/2 cups mushrooms (button)
- 200 g ground beef
- 2 garlic cloves crushed
- 1 tsp. paprika powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper powder
- 1 tbsp. olive oil
- 2 Onions (1 cubed and the other cut into rings)
- 4 Burger buns
- 1/2 lettuce, washed
- 2 tomatoes cut into slices
- 4 mozzarella cheese slices
For The Sauce
- 2 tbsp. Dijon mustard mustard
- 2 tbsp. Dijon Mustard
- 2 tbsp. garlic mayo
- 2 tbsp. tomato ketchup
How To Prepare Mushroom Burgers
- Put a sauce pan on medium heat, add the cooking oil, add the onion rings and sauté them for 4 minutes, don’t let them turn brown, then remove them from the oil with a perforated spoon such that the excess oil remains in the sauce pan.
- Add the cubed onions and sauté for about 3 minutes, add the garlic and let cook for 1 minute, add the paprika and black pepper and cook for 1 minute.
- Add the ground beef, stir well, cover and cook until cooked, add the mushrooms, mix well and cook for 10 minutes. or until all the water is dry. Shape the mushroom and ground beef mixture into 4 equal patties, then pan sear for 5 minutes per side until they are browned.
- Assemble the burger buns, cut them into two across the center of each, place the mushroom and beef parties, then the sautéed onions, tomato slices, lettuce and then top with the cheese slices, Repeat the same on all the burger buns.
- Mix all the sauce ingredients together in a bowl, drizzle the sauce on top of the burgers, then cover with the top side of the burger buns. You can serve with French fries, sweet potato fries or even coleslaw.
