Orange Cinnamon Rolls are a modern classic cinnamon rolls, they are very tasty, delicious and feeling. They are very popular just like the old fashioned cinnamon rolls.

This citrus flavored pastry is very exciting especially when you want a different feel of pastry with fruity flavor. They present the old version pastry giving it a citrusy, vibrant style.

You can store the Orange Cinnamon Rolls for up to two days at room temperature or refrigerate for up to 5 days or freeze the unglazed rolls for up to 2 months. To pre-heat, microwave for 25 seconds. After warming up you can add some glaze for better moisture.

Ingredients For Making Orange Cinnamon Rolls

  • 2 cups of all-purpose wheat flour
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. instant yeast
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 cups warm milk
  • 50 g melted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 2 oranges zest removed

For The Filling

  • 60 g melted butter
  • 1 tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp. cinnamon powder
  • 1 tbsp. orange zest

For The Orange Glaze

  • 3 tbsp. powdered sugar
  • 3 tbsp. orange juice
  • 2 tbsp. butter

How To Prepare Orange Cinnamon Rolls

  1. Take a baking tray about, 15 by 13 inches, put a parchment paper at the bottom, put aside.
  2. Take a mixing bowl, add the warm milk, egg, melted butter and orange zest mix together. Add the flour, yeast and salt to the wet ingredients knead the dough for 6 to 8 minutes until it is soft. Cover and let it rise for one hour or until it has doubled in size.
  3. Take a mixing bowl, add the soft butter, cinnamon powder, brown sugar and orange zest and mix together until soft.
  4. Roll the dough on a flat surface into a rectangle to about 15 to 20 inches, spread the cinnamon and orange mixture evenly over the dough. Cut into rolls of about 3 inches thick.
  5. Arrange the rolls on the baking tray, cover and let rise for 40 minutes or until has risen and doubled in size. Bake at 180 degrees for 30 minutes or until lightly golden.
  6. Take a mixing bowl, add the powdered sugar, orange juice and butter, ix together until smooth, drizzle over the warm rolls. Serve while still hot with a cap of hot tea, coffee, vanilla latte or even a glass of fresh juice.
