Ingredients For Making Whole Wheat Burger Buns

  • 300 g Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. instant yeast Instant yeast
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tbsp. Butter
  • 1 tsp. sesame seeds
  • 1 egg for brushing
  • 1/2 Salt
  • 160 ml Milk

How To Prepare Whole Wheat Buns

  1. Take a mixing bowl, add the dry yeast, 1 teaspoon sugar and 200 ml tepid milk ( Luke warm ), whisk together until the yeast dissolves. Cover and let it rest for about 10 minutes or until it is foamy and bubbly.
  2. Add the remaining sugar and milk, whisk together then add the butter and flour, mix the mixture to form a dough, knead the dough for 10 minutes.
  3. Put the dough on a pastry mat and continues kneading for another 5 minutes.
  4. Put the dough into a bowl and cover with a kitchen cloth and put in a warm place for 1 hour. After one hour the dough should have doubled in size.
  5. Punch the dough with your fist to release the air, put he dough on the pastry mat, cut the dough into equal sizes of 100 g each and form into balls, you can use a weighing scale to get equal sizes.
  6. Place the dough balls on a baking tray, cover with a kitchen cloth and put aside to rise again for 30 minutes.
  7. Brush the dough balls with egg wash.
  8. Bake in a pre-heated oven for 30 minutes on 350 degrees.
  9. Remove from oven and put aside to cool.
