Ingredients For Making Whole Wheat Bread Rolls
600 g Whole Wheat Bread Flour
475 ml Tepid milk
15 g Dry yeast
15 g Butter
2 tsp. Sugar
1/4 tsp. Salt
2 eggs (one for egg wash)
2 tsp. sesame seeds
How To Prepare Whole Wheat Bread Rolls
- In a mixing bowl, add milk, sugar and the dry yeast and stir together. Cover with a kitchen cloth and put aside in a warm place for 15 minutes or until the mixture is frothy.
- Add the flour and salt into the yeast mixture and mix into a smooth dough.
- Knead for about 10 minutes or until smooth and elastic. Add the butter and continue kneading for 3 minutes or until the butter is well integrated into the dough.
- Set aside in a warm place for 1 hour or until the dough has doubled in size.
- Knead the dough again for about 8 minutes.
- Shape into small balls and put into a well-greased baking tin.
- Set aside in a warm place for 30 minutes or until the dough has risen to the top of the tin. Brush the top with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Put the tin into the oven pre-heated to very hot and bake for 15 minutes. Reduce the oven temperature to hot and continue to bake for 30 minutes.
- The Whole Wheat Bread Rolls are cooked if the sound is hollow when knocked on the bottom with your knuckle.
- Cool on a wire rack.
